I am curious about the figure directive, and I am having
trouble using it as I would like.
Here is how I am used to things working. A figure has
- an image
- a legend, which is usually part of the image
- explanatory notes, which are below the image
- a caption, which comes below everything else
I do not see how to achieve this with the figure directive.
(I am primarily interested in the LaTeX writer's output.)
I further wonder what field follows the practice of having
a legend below the caption. Is there one? If not, is the
current functionality in error?
I think my needs would be met by a caption placement option.
E.g., :caption-placement: bottom
I could then abuse the ``legend`` to hold notes.
Might such an approach be considered as an enhancement request?
