Hello!
There is a question: is it possible to use inline latex arrays ('array'
environment) with the :math: role, or arrays can only be presented in
separate block with math directive?
I'm not subscribed.

The follwing works for me: :math:`\begin{matrix} 1 & \cos x \\
-\sin x & 1 \end{matrix}`.

Mind, that you must follow the rST syntax for inline content, though, i.e.
formatting like::

:math:`\begin{matrix}
1 & \cos x \\
-\sin x & 1
\end{matrix}`.

will not work.
